Vall Por is a red wine coupage of Carignan (40%), Grenache (40%), Merlot (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) from the vineyard of La Cometa (Porrera), a vineyard planted more than 25 years ago. This estate have been worked with a lot of respect and in process of ecological reconversion.
TASTING NOTE
Good aromatic intensity and concentration, fresh aromas of red fruits, spices, licorice and soft mineral touches. The palate is a structured and concentrated wine, with a good integration of fruit notes, pleasant vellutured texture, notes of creamy oak, good acidity and a slightly spiced long finish.
ELABORATION
All the selection of the grape is made in the vineyard. The harvest is all manual. Only the fully healthy and mature grapes reach the cellar in boxes of 18kg. The wine is vinified in underground vats lined with ceramic stoneware rayolas. After 24 days of maceration, the malolactic fermentation will be pressed and carried out naturally in the underground tanks. Then the barrels will be filled where it will stay 12 months.
AGING
It ages for 12 months in 3rd year oak barrels (80% French Allier and 20% American).
PAIRING
Ideal to accompany cheeses, sausages, meats, grilled meats and rice dishes.
