1909 Plantadeta is a 100% Carignan varietal red wine made from century-old vines by Celler Sabaté. This wine is made with grapes planted in 1909 by Jaume Sabaté's great-grandfather. It is a Carignan in its purest form, characterized by concentration and purity.
PRODUCTION
Made with the oldest Carignan vines on the estate located in Vilella Baixa. The grapes are hand-harvested in mid-October, selecting only the oldest vines. A further selection of the grapes is made upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation/maceration takes place for approximately 30 days in small tanks. Daily manual punch-downs are performed. Malolactic fermentation is carried out before the wine is transferred to clay amphorae, specially made for this wine.
