La Locomotora Tempranillo is a young monovarietal red wine, 100% Tempranillo from vineyards located in the town of Briones.
TASTING NOTE
Ruby color of medium intensity. Bright and clean Aromas of juicy red and black fruit and fresh like plum, cherry and strawberry. With time, spices like vanilla and a subtle hint of black licorice start to come together that fit perfectly. The palate is a wine that transmits the freshness of the fruit. Tannin very well integrated and a good volume. Tasty and with a light reminder of toasted and vanilla from its aging in oak barrels.
VINIFICATION
The harvest is done manually. Flaked and uncracked clusters, concealed in stainless steel tanks. Pre-fermentative cold maceration at 5ºC for 6 days. Fermentation under controlled temperature of 28ºC for 10 days with three daily pumping over. Total maceration of 16 days. Discover by gravity and vertical pressing. The malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
AGING
It ages for 4 months in French oak barrels.
